2012-2013 Community Service Projects

Back Sack Project Carmel Rotary initiated Gleaner's Back Sack program at one local elementary school during second semester of 2011-12 school year. A District Grant to begin serving a second elementary school in the fall of 2012 has been approved. A second year of funding for the original elementary is pending.

Tools for School Food Sack Initiative In partnership with the Tools for School program sponsored by Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church and Gleaner's Food Bank, the Carmel Rotary is providing a sack of food for Hamilton County families receiving school supplies.

Circle of Kindness Initiative - Sue Westermeier

A resource for people on the brink of homelessness in our community. You may be surpised to know how a layoff, a few months with a paycheck, a health problem or a loss of a partner can cause an financial emergency for people right here in our community. Our Initiative is meant to respond with quiet dignity and compassion in a meaningful way. People are in need of services:
