Vocational Service

Ray Kramp ('10-'11)

As business leaders, Rotarians share their skills and expertise through vocational service, one of the Four Avenues of Service. Our vocational service efforts can play a vital role in improving the quality of life for those hardworking members of the community who need direction and expertise. We help by participating in any of a number of vocational service activities — mentoring, career days, vocational awards and business assistance.

In the Vocational Avenue of Service, our club supports several initiatives including:

OLAB - Opportunities to Learn About Business at Walbash College.  We make an annual donation to support an intensive week long summer business seminar at the college.  Admission to the program is awarded to outstanding high school juniors who apply and who intend to make the world of business their career choice.  For more information...

Vocational Fair - Each year we host a Vocational Fair with information, exhibits and displays by members of Carmel Rotary.  The members present their professional business and/or service companies and careers.  The fair takes place as part of a regular meeting and substitutes for the normal program

Exchange City - This educational program is presented in conjunction with the Carmel Elementary school to help students gain poise and experience through personal interviews.  The program takes approximately 2 hours and involves six to ten Rotarians  from business and government.

Community Service Awards - Each year the club presents recognition (engraved coffee mugs) to public servants including teachers, firefighters and police officers.
